Since 2015, Practical Dog Training has held training classes for dogs in Carrickfergus, County Antrim but the story starts a lot earlier.
Since 2003, owner Angela Rainey attended the Ulster German Shepherd Club where she trained her own dogs through to the Gold level in The Kennel Club Good Citizenship Scheme.
She discovered she had a real interest in helping to teach others go through their levels in obedience and from there, she started to gain her own qualifications to become a trainer.
She co-founded Ballywalter German Shepherd Dog Club in 2014, where she worked with various reactive dogs and helped to train them to Kennel Club standard for their Good Citizenship Scheme.
As her reputation in Carrickfergus grew, more people reached out and she became more actively involved in helping others with behavioural issues before then beginning to hold her own training classes as Practical Dog Training, opening to the public from 2015.
After outgrowing her premises in Carrickfergus, Angela moved to a new location in Larne to take over an existing Kennels & Cattery service forming Practical Dog Training, Kennels and Cattery.
